Mojgan Makki, MD, DFAACAP

Dr. Makki is a double board certified psychiatrist with American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry, and the founder of Psychiatry Studio. She has over 20 years of experience working in the mental health field providing services in private, community, and university systems focusing on teaching and mental health and wellness.
​
Her clinical work is focused on evaluation and treatment of children and toddlers under 6 years of age, consultations for schools, second opinions for complex cases, and speaking engagements. She is licensed in states of Illinois, Missouri, and California.

Heather Hill, MD
​
Dr. Hill is a Board-certified psychiatrist with 15 years of experience working with adolescents and adults with mental health and substance use disorders. Dr. Hill is certified in TMS treatments. Her practice style is one of collaboration and education, empowering her patients to understand their symptoms and choices in treatment options when seeking mental wellness and healing. She works with her patients to guide individualized treatment plans.
Dr. Hill earned her medical degree at the University of Missouri - Columbia and completed her residency in psychiatry at the St. Louis University School of Medicine. She has experience working in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric units, private psychiatry practice, and Veterans mental health clinic.
Dr. Hill is available for tele-medicine and in-person clinical services at our Chicago and St.Louis location.

Marcia Leikin, MD

Dr. Leikin is double board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry and neurology. She has over 30 years of experience in private practice using multiple modalities with a focus on psychotherapy combined with medication management. She has been involved in school consultation programs at multiple schools collaborating with staff, families and students to promote support and growth. She is a member of the Illinois Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and American Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Dr. Leikin is available for school consultations in the greater Chicago area.

Sarah Bier, NP

Sarah Bier is a certified mental health nurse practitioner and nurse midwife. She has a special interest and extensive training in perinatal and reproductive mental health, health at every size, LGBTQIA and non-binary concerns, mood and anxiety disorders, and has completed advanced training with Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Women's Mental Health and is certified in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. She is a participant in the first national cohort of National Curriculum in Reproductive Psychiatry: Intensive Advanced Curriculum, affiliated with Marce Society of North America.

At Psychiatry Studio, Sarah’s clinical work is focused on evaluation and treatment of young adults and teens at community programs. She is licensed in the state of Illinois.

Sara Thomas
Office Manager @Clinic
Sara earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology from the University of Missouri - Columbia. She has spent years helping clients achieve their personal health goals by working as a personal trainer and a nutrition counselor. As office manager, she works tirelessly to make sure members receive the utmost personalized care and that each and every interaction is efficient and smooth. She ensures our office runs efficiently on a daily basis.

Lori Schliep Sturm
Office Manager @School
As office manager at Psychiatry Studio @School, Lori is dedicated to ensuring a high quality and seamless process, in collaboration with schools, to support students and their educational teams. She has over 10 years of experience in special education with various public school districts in Cook and Lake Counties. Contact Lori for school-based student assessments, counseling, guidance or mental health forums within your school district.

Jacquelyn Amashta
Medical Assistant @Clinic
Jackie has over ten years of experience working as a medical assistant with a focus on psychiatry and mental health. She insures member’s receive their medical needs addressed efficiently and properly. This includes ensuring prescriptions refill requests are completed on time, prior authorizations, form completions, or other medical needs that members may have during or in between appointments.

Gwen Weidknecht
Outreach Administrator @Clinic
Gwen is dedicated to customer service and with a degree in business and IT, she ensures our clinic experience is always the best it can be. She works closely with the physicians, clinicians, and providers outside of Psychiatry Studio for individualized referrals for our members when needed . Outside of her critical role in the clinic, Gwen reaches out to schedule regular Meet & Greets with our team for future collaboration.
